Your new home has a pre-installed home security system
Many times after you buy a home, you’ll find that the old owners used a security system. All the components function well, are installed in the right spaces, and are ready to go. In this case, all you might have to do is to call and establish a new monitoring contract. A Vivint installer will still show up to make sure there are no compatibility issues, and they could offer options on where you should replace bad outdated components. It's a fast appointment, and you can have your monitoring set up without worrying about any new alarms and cameras -- unless you get some new devices.
The previous homeowners can move an existing Vivint contract to you for a small transfer fee to make the process a snap. If the owners are downsizing to an apartment complex or smaller home, turning over the security service might be an addendum of the sale.
You need to move and take your existing equipment with you
You might need to bring along your old home security components with you to a new place when you move. It should be pretty simple to do, as modern components are portable. You can remove each component yourself or call a professional expert to come and take down your devices. Then our installers will set up the same devices -- and any new items you want -- in the new house. And your home security contract will keep the same.
